The signal check
Three minutes, and no verdict at the end of it
Most tools of this kind are built to hand you a word for yourself, because words for yourself travel well. This one is built to hand you a reading of one situation you are standing in. You do not have to explain your whole life to be allowed in this room.
Signal check · a calibration, not a quiz
Seven questions
What this is not
Not a personality test. Not a diagnosis. Not a score, a percentage, a type, or a label you can put on yourself or on anybody else. Nothing here is shareable as a badge, because that is the part every other tool of this kind optimises for.
What it is
A calibration exercise. Three minutes. Hold one specific relationship or situation in mind — one that is live for you now, not the hardest one you have ever had — and answer about what you are noticing in it. At the end: a short reflection and one small experiment for this week.
This is a pilot instrument, not a validated psychometric. It does not diagnose, it does not treat, and it is not a substitute for professional support where support is needed. It says nothing about anybody else in your life.
Why it refuses the label
A label is a fixed description of a person. What the method reads is a position taken under a particular load — which is a direction, and directions change. Naming the person ends the enquiry at the precise moment it becomes useful.
